Your notebook stays on your device.
This page describes exactly what happens to a notebook when you convert it here, and what does not happen.
Last updated: 11 October 2026.
The short version
This site exists to turn a Jupyter notebook into a PDF. It does that entirely inside your browser tab. The notebook you choose is never sent anywhere, so there is no copy of it on a server and nothing to delete afterwards.
What happens when you convert
Your browser reads the .ipynb file from your disk using the File API. The notebook is parsed as JSON, rendered into a hidden document in the same page, measured, and rasterised block by block onto PDF pages. The finished PDF is created as an in-memory blob and handed to the Download or Print action you choose.
None of those steps involve a network request for your notebook content, and no analytics service sees your file. Turning off your network connection after the page loads does not break conversion.
What is stored
Nothing is stored. There are no accounts, no cookies for tracking, no local storage entries and no server-side logs of your notebook. Settings such as page size live only in the form controls on the page and disappear when you close or reload it.
If you use the Print → Save as PDF option, the browser prints the same document you see in the preview; it does not send it across the network.
Third-party requests
Fonts and the conversion engine are served from this site itself, so the page needs no external assets to work.
There is one optional exception: if a notebook references an http(s) image in a markdown cell or an HTML output, and the "Embed remote images" option is enabled (it is on by default), the browser tries to fetch that image so it can appear in the PDF. That request goes to whatever host the notebook points at, exactly as it would when you open the notebook in Jupyter. Turn the option off and the page will not contact any third-party host at all; external images are then replaced with a short note in the PDF.
Analytics and advertising
There are none. This site does not include analytics scripts, advertising pixels, session recorders or social widgets. That also means there is no data about how the tool is used, which is why the FAQ is written from behaviour rather than from usage metrics.
Hosting and logs
The site is served as static files by a hosting provider, which may keep standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested path and timestamp) for operational and security purposes, as almost every web server does. Those logs cover the page request itself; they never contain the contents of a notebook, because the notebook never leaves your device.
Email and the contact page
If you write to support@ipynbtopdfconverter.com, the message you send is stored in an email inbox until it has been answered and cleared, and it is handled by whoever maintains the site. Sending a notebook by email is a choice you make deliberately — it is never something the converter does on your behalf.
Children, changes and questions
The tool is a general-purpose utility with no account system and nothing to sign up for, so it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes — for example if some future version adds a server-side option — the change will be described on this page with a new date before it takes effect.
Questions about this policy can go to support@ipynbtopdfconverter.com; the contact page explains what to include in a message.
Prefer to verify it yourself?
Load this page, then disconnect from the network before choosing a notebook. The conversion, preview, download and print actions all still work — which is the practical proof that nothing is being uploaded.
